The future is sustainable – there is no doubting it.
We are looking to play our part in the sustainable revolution by working with suppliers who share our objectives to offer our customers a fully sustainable option for workwear.
GRS garments are going to be at the forefront of this revolution.
In the past many different suppliers have identified the industry and societal need for sustainable workwear – but have never truly followed through on it.
Marketing departments of the past have thought of it as a short-term trend giving them an opportunity to insert a keyword here and there which will drive a bit of traffic towards the product.
And, not just that, but many of the garments themselves have not actually been as described. This is until the introduction of GRS.
The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an accreditation given only to products which have had the content of their products fully verified by a third-party to be as described.
The objectives of the GRS are to define requirements to ensure accurate content claims and good working conditions.
Since 2011, this accreditation has had an amazingly positive impact and has, in a way, forced manufacturer’s hands into ensuring that the content of their product is as-described in turn having a less negative impact on the environment.
Industrial Workwear will only work with suppliers who have full GRS certification on their sustainable products and will not offer our customers any sustainable garment which has not been independently verified to be as described.
We are encouraging others within the industry to do the same to ensure that all garments on offer within the industry are as described allowing the industry to play our part in securing a sustainable future and ensuring a positive impact on the environment and our communities as a whole.
